Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute (BMCRI), established in 1955, is a premier government medical college in Karnataka. The institute is approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC) and affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bangalore. In 2025, BMCRI was ranked 16th out of 54 medical colleges in India by India Today.

BMCRI offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Its flagship course is the MBBS, alongside four other UG courses such as B.Sc, B.Sc (Nursing), B.Sc (Lateral Entry), and Diploma programs. At the postgraduate level, the institute provides MD, MS, PGDTCD, M.Ch, and DM courses.

Admissions are merit-based for courses like B.Sc (Lateral) and PG Diploma in Tribal Culture Development, while others require entrance exams such as NEET UG, PGET, or CET. The NEET UG cutoff 2025 stands at 1338, while the NEET PG cutoff 2024 ranges from 113 to 54,493.
