The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore, established in 1909 through a partnership between industrialist Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata and the Government of India, is a premier Deemed University. Recognized by the UGC and accredited with an A++ grade by NAAC, IISc is ranked 1st in NIRF 2024 (Research category) and secured the 100th position in QS World University Rankings (Research).
IISc Bangalore offers a wide range of UG, PG, and Ph.D. programs including B.Tech in Mathematics & Computing, B.Sc, M.Tech, M.S., M.Sc, and Ph.D. The B.Sc program is the institute’s flagship course, available in 7 specializations. Admission to B.Sc is based on national-level exams such as KVPY, JEE (Main/Advanced), or NEET, depending on the chosen stream. Since 2022, IISc also offers a B.Tech in Mathematics & Computing, with admission through JEE Main scores followed by JoSAA/CSAB counselling. The first-year fee for B.Tech is around ₹2.2 Lakhs, while the B.Sc program fee is ₹30,200.
