R.V. College of Architecture (RVCA), established in 1992, began as the Department of Architecture at R.V. College of Engineering (RVCE), Bengaluru. In 1995, it shifted to a dedicated building, and in 2009, it gained autonomy under the name R.V. School of Architecture. Later, the Council of Architecture (COA), India, approved its renaming as R.V. College of Architecture. In 2014, the institution moved to a modern campus in Belagavi, Karnataka, and is currently affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU). Over the years, RVCA has built a global reputation for excellence in architecture and urban planning education.
The college offers undergraduate (B.Arch) and postgraduate (M.Arch) programs with an intake capacity of 120 students for B.Arch and 20 students for M.Arch. Admissions are based on entrance exams such as KCET, PGCET, GATE, and others.
In terms of recognition, RVCA was ranked 12th out of 40 architecture colleges by India Today in 2023, including 2nd in Bangalore and 3rd in Karnataka. It also secured the 3rd position out of 30 colleges in India in the Outlook India Rankings 2023 for top architecture institutions.
