Founded in 2006 through the merger of six renowned academic institutions, Ilia State University (ISU) is one of the leading public universities in Georgia. Known for its strong focus on research and innovation, ISU serves a dynamic community of 17,405 students, including 271 international students. The university hosts 27 research institutes, 47 centers, and 90 active projects, supported by 278 researchers, creating a world-class academic environment.

ISU offers a wide range of bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral, and professional programs. Currently, the university provides around 50 degree programs across its 4 academic units (1 school and 3 faculties).

Admissions 2025
Ilia State University admits students twice a year – in the Fall and Spring intakes – welcoming nearly 5,000 new students annually.

For Indian applicants:

• A high school graduation certificate is required for undergraduate admission.

• English proficiency: TOEFL iBT 65 (or equivalent).
