Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi), established in 1961, is an Institute of National Importance and one of India’s top engineering institutions. IIT Delhi has two satellite campuses in Sonipat and Jhajjar, along with its first international campus in Abu Dhabi. In rankings, IIT Delhi was placed 2nd in India by Collegedunia 2025 (Engineering category) and 2nd by NIRF 2024 (Engineering category), while securing the 4th position in the Overall category by NIRF 2024.

Key Highlights of IIT Delhi

• Programs Offered: IIT Delhi provides a wide range of UG, PG, and PhD programs across Engineering, Design, Management, and Sciences. The flagship program is B.Tech.

• Admissions:

  • B.Tech: Based on JEE Advanced scores followed by JoSAA counselling.

  • M.Tech: Based on GATE scores followed by COAP counselling; candidates may also need to appear for a Written Test/Interview.

  • Other courses include B.Des, M.Des, MBA, M.Sc, PhD, and PG Diplomas.

• Placements: The IIT Delhi Placement Report 2026 is yet to be released. As per the NIRF Report 2025, the median package was INR 19 LPA for UG and INR 18.82 LPA for PG programs.
